Cell by Stephen King, zombie books

I am a huge Steve fan and I’ve enjoyed just about everything hes ever written. Unfortunately I have to give this one a bad review. when i learned that this book was out i ran to the store just about as fast as i could and spent money i didn’t have to get it in hard cover and it was a huge mistake.

The idea was great. I love the way his zombies came to be. cellular pulse, possibly the best idea I’ve ever heard of for zombie animation, But this book just was not up to my standards for good old Steve. I read him for plot, substance and character development. This book lacked at least two of those. I do have to say though that a lot of the zombie gore was there. That part I enjoyed at least.

The Cell by Stephen King

The Cell doesn’t contain your average zombie. There’s no leaked virus and the disease is not infectious. In fact, we are never presented with a solid explanation of how it actually comes to be. All we know is that, at a certain time, everyone in the world who was at the time of the event talking on a cell phone has turned into a mindless, bloodthirsty animal. The main character of the story is the heroic father, who is desperate to get to his estranged son. Along the way he is forced to fight for his life, and is witness to many depravities. All in all, it is a very good book and I would definitely recommend it.
