The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks

Zombie Survival Guide, Zombie Books, Max Brooks

The zombie survival guide is one of those zombie books that when you read it, you think Wow!

Max Brooks went through a lot of trouble making it look like that zombies do exist. He gives you a background and history of zombie attacks, and how they were dealt with.

Through the book he talks about how to deal with different levels of outbreaks, how to get around, and what you need to defend yourself.

The book also covers how to get rid of the zombies once you get enough people to take them out. My favorite is the one where you get some people and a truck. Drive into the area, then slowly shoot the zombies from the back. You can also run over them with a armored car. I also like the chapter that covers using a jail as a anti-zombie fortification.

Overall, this book rocks my socks. I hope you like it too.

This is quite a fun book, it explains what safety and survival measures you must apply in the case of a zombie attack and how to continue with your life after a zombie apocalypse. Despite being a parody of a survival book, it’s written in such a convincing manner as if the author really believed in the possibility of a zombie apocalypse. That makes the reading all the more enjoyable and with it come many interesting facts about some every day things that we take for granted. A great and interesting book you should read just for the heck of it.

My most recent discovery and subsequent purchase came in the form of Max Brook’s handbook to surviving the zombie apocalypse, aptly title The Zombie Survival Guide. Jam-packed with hilarious insight into this dreadful and most definitely terrifying post-apocalyptic nightmare, Max Brooks unleashes the living dead at a fast and furious pace. However, don’t fret, as Brooks prepares you for the worst in the most hilarious way possible. Interest in what supplies you should stock up on? Brooks has you covered. Need to know how to survive on the run? Brooks has you covered? Interested in hearing first-hand tales from survivors themselves? You guessed it, Brooks has you covered! Hilarious? Check. Wonderfully and delightfully illustrated? Check. A top notch guide in every last way? After all this gushing, do I even need to type the “c” word? At the risk of sounding cliche, believe me when I say that everything about this book is absolutely exceptional, and could not be more worthy of both your time and hard-earned cash. The Zombie Survival guide is a wild, imaginative ride from start to finish, and quite simply, a survivalists’ dream come true. They’re out to get you, why not fight back properly?

The entire title of this books is “The Zombie Survival Guide-Complete Protection From The Living Dead.” Upon initial glance I couldn’t help but wonder, is this a comedy book or a real how-to book for protection against zombies? Intrigued, I checked it out. I found out that it was, well, both! Max Brooks is the son of Mel Brooks. And while there are comic touchings throughout this book, the amount of time he must have spent gathering material from zombie legends dating back hundreds of years as well as his vast knowledge of the comic book and film zombie is incredible. Yes, there really are tips on how to defeat the undead, citing everything that has worked in print via legend and in the celluloid world. Hey, at least we can sleep easier knowing this book exists. Right?

The Zombie Survival Guide is a well-written, tongue-in-cheek guide to surviving the impending zombie apocalypse. It is written as a pragmatic manual, containing clear instructions for things like how to assemble zombie-proof armor, what materials to pack when venturing into zombie territory, and how to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. The Zombie Survival Guide also outlines a few different types of zombies, categorized by origin. If you’ve ever wondered about the difference between a radiation zombie and a laboratory-experiment-gone-wrong zombie, this book is a veritable field guide that’s sure to delight. It includes practical advice for how fighting these types of zombies is different. If you plan to get stranded in the middle of a zombie mob any time soon, you should make sure to have this book with you! The Zombie Survival Guide is written by Max Brooks, who also wrote World War Z.

This is a good book. The author uses dry humor. That’s what makes this book so fun. Most zombie stories, good or bad, transport you into the world of zombies, whereas this one kind of brings the zombies out into your world. After reading this book, I was thinking about making a list of supplies. That’s how realistic this book is. It’s pure fun. If there were such a thing as zombies, this would be in the reference section. Very thorough and very entertaining.
